As July heats up the land, we surf sans wetsuits, eat watermelons and cucumbers, and make floral sun teas. We savor colorful farmer’s markets, lounge on chill beaches with good reading, laugh on bike parades with strangers, and harvest abundance in our gardens. What a glorious time of year.
As the long days begin shortening towards the end of this month, we watch our California hillsides dry into rolling shades of golds and browns, and begin collecting seeds. Here, more than halfway through 2022, consider:
- What are you learning? How are you growing?
- What are you shedding? How are you transforming?
Stuff a small notebook into your pocket, and bring these questions with you on a walk. Perhaps bring some tea or incense. Perhaps make some earth altars on your journey. Perhaps you simply let yourself wander freely until the long day is complete and you have wandered your way into your answers, clarity glowing from within and without.
