▼ July Glow ▼ inspiration, elevation & journaling queries to take outside

 image

As July heats up the land, we surf sans wetsuits, eat watermelons and cucumbers, and make floral sun teas. We savor colorful farmer’s markets, lounge on chill beaches with good reading, laugh on bike parades with strangers, and harvest abundance in our gardens. What a glorious time of year.

As the long days begin shortening towards the end of this month, we watch our California hillsides dry into rolling shades of golds and browns, and begin collecting seeds. Here, more than halfway through 2022, consider:

  • What are you learning? How are you growing?
  • What are you shedding? How are you transforming?

Stuff a small notebook into your pocket, and bring these questions with you on a walk. Perhaps bring some tea or incense. Perhaps make some earth altars on your journey. Perhaps you simply let yourself wander freely until the long day is complete and you have wandered your way into your answers, clarity glowing from within and without.

🌻Summer Solstice, updated clinic fees, Texas

image

Happy Summer Solstice! As we approach the middle of 2022 and the beginning of summer, take a moment to reflect on how your year has been thus far, where you are now, and where you are going. Journal, draw, or put on a piece of music and dance it out.

SUMMER

Stay cool through the rising heat. Sip on herbal iced teas, or make a refreshing herbal highball. Make cucumber salads with fresh garden herbs. Create sun teas with mint family plants like peppermint, spearmint, lemon balm and lavender. Make and freeze fresh pesto. Revel in the abundance of this time of year.

Summer is associated with the Fire Element in Chinese Medicine. Move more fully into your body and life, and complete your big passion projects. As you travel into your bold summer adventures, remember to rest, relax, and create pockets of spaciousness for freeform play– and simply doing nothing. (Acupuncture can help!)
