About Jiling

Hello! I’m Jiling. I’m an herbalist, nature mentor, yoga teacher, artist, and adventurer, among much else! “Wild Creative Spirit” for short. I see sliding scale clients, sell hand-made herbal products, write articles, volunteer at clinics, and teach herbal, yoga, and nature-based classes around the USA, China, and Taiwan.

I'm currently pursuing my Master's of Science in Acupuncture and Oriental medicine (MSAOM) degree at Alhambra Medical University (AMU) in Los Angeles, CA. This includes herbs, acupuncture, bodywork, and more. Prior to AMU, I studied at the National University of Natural Medicine in Portland, OR and the Academy for Five Element Acupuncture in Gainesville, FL.

Before grad school, I studied and taught traditional healing modalities and wilderness skills throughout USA and SE Asia for a decade. I apprenticed with 7song at the Northeast School of Botanical Medicine and Ithaca Free Clinic, and at the Colorado School of Clinical Herbalism. I'm currently teaching at the Hitchcock Children's CenterTwo Coyotes Wilderness School, Where There Be Dragons, and at herb conferences, music festivals, and other events.

I'm scouting for a small piece of land bordering public land, to start a wee clinic, school, homestead, and community center upon graduation in June 2019. Possibilities include Ojai/ Ventura (CA), New Mexico (Silver City or Santa Fe) in the USA... and remain open. I hope to join a practice, as I start my own. I welcome your ideas!

I started this blog in 2006. After 2014, my posts are more informational. Use the “search” box in the top left corner to find specifics. Note my handy "topic cloud" on the right. If you have questions/ suggestions, please click on “connect," and do so. Thanks for visiting!
